Passion Meets Purpose: Our Owner’s Story

Jason and Amadea's journey began in 2016 in Pittsburgh's South Side, where fate brought them together on the dance floor of Jimmy D's. Since both stood over six feet tall, they quickly found each other and struck up a conversation that revealed their shared interests and set the stage for a remarkable partnership.With a bachelor's degree in art, Jason honed his skills at an art studio, while Amadea, a finance student at Duquesne University, nurtured her childhood artistic dreams from Hungary. Their paths intertwined further when Jason discovered Painting with a Twist Pittsburgh South Side, just across the bridge from Amadea. This proximity not only deepened their relationship but also forged a lasting friendship with the studio's former owner, Debbie.In a magical moment at Disney World, Jason proposed to Amadea with a hand-painted princess shoe, a heartfelt tribute to her artistic aspirations. Inspired by Jason's dedication to art and entrepreneurship, Amadea began exploring digital drawing alongside her finance career, ultimately launching a successful online shop to showcase her unique designs. Meanwhile, Jason expanded his managerial expertise at the studio, continuously growing his business acumen through various mentorships.Now, Jason and Amadea feel incredibly blessed to embark on this new chapter at Painting with a Twist - South Side, the very place where their love story began. They are excited to connect with their community, share their passion for creativity, and celebrate the joy that art brings into their lives.

In-Studio Standard Events

At Twist South Side, our standard event is a fun and creative instructor-led class where participants of all skill levels are guided step-by-step through creating their own masterpiece.In a relaxed, social atmosphere, our professional artists make it easy to follow along, ensuring everyone leaves with a painting they can be proud of.Standard events last 2 hours, and guests are encouraged to bring their favorite beverages and snacks to enhance the experience. It’s a perfect way to unwind, connect with others, and discover your artistic side!Twist South Side Pro Members may attend two Standard Events each month. This membership includes 16x20 canvases, with the option to upgrade to a wooden plank for an additional fee.If a member wishes to attend one of Twist South Side's Special Events, an additional charge will apply.Special Events include anything beyond our standard 2-hour session, such as Paint Your Pet, Paint Pour, Murder Mystery, Trivia, Game Nights, Book Club, and more.

Member Event Scheduling

We invite you to explore our Event Calendar to find the perfect event for you. Once you’ve selected an event, please call or email us to confirm your attendance. Providing us with as much advance notice as possible increases your chances of securing a seat before we sell out. Do Not Reserve through the link.To accommodate our members, we reserve at least half of the seats in every class. If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please inform us as soon as possible, allowing us to offer your seat to other members.If you have a guest who is not a member and would like to attend, please have them sign up through the link below, mentioning your name for grouping and seating. They can use promo code PRO2976 to enjoy a $5 discount.Important Note for Members: Reservations must be made via phone or email, not through the website. Please be aware that if you reserve a spot for a class and do not attend, it will still count as one of your events. This is because we have held a seat for you, potentially preventing other members or paying customers from joining. Please let us know as soon as possible if you need to cancel your reservation to prevent this from happening.Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Pop In & Paint

Welcome to Pop In & DIY at Twist South Side – where creativity meets spontaneity! Dive into an array of DIY projects, perfect for all skill levels and ages. Just drop in during our Pop In hours listed below OR reserve a time to come in, choose your favorite project, and create something uniquely yours using our detailed instructions and inspiration guides.We offer a wide variety of projects and surfaces. In addition to our traditional canvases, planks, and pallets, we are happy to introduce 3D wood figurines, 6" wood cutouts, 18" wood cutouts, DIY candles, pillows, banners and so much more! Please try to arrive at least an hour before close so you have enough time to complete your project. Some projects come with step-by-step video instructions so bring your smartphone and some earbuds to follow along. We can't wait to see you!Pop In & Paint Hours
